The pink energy efficient LED tree lights have been a huge success. They are the envy of Wirral, many people have stated how they brighten not only the area but their day too. Local businesses report increased trade.
Importantly the lights were funded through local donations. These are truly Hoylake's Lights.
Sadly, the mandarins at the Town Hall aren't happy at the proposal to leave them up till the end of February and further to leave them in situ and switch on for celebration days through the year.
By signing this petition you are asking Wirral Council to step up and provide a solution to their problem, their issue, that they have with these lights. And for them to facilitate the year round installation and occasional summer switch on and extended winter lighting of Market Street and beyond.
There is an extremely limited possibly that the retention of the lights on the trees will give rise to issues relating to ongoing maintainence. The positive benefit of the retention of the lights greatly outweighs any potential very minor costs in relation to maintainence.
