The administration blinked and the plan to put those leadership academies on our campus is officially dead. This is what happens when you refuse to let them steamroll over our community. Stay alert because we need to make sure they do not try to pull another stunt like this again.

We the undersigned as stakeholders in William Peace University, do not wish to have the WCPSS Leadership Academies located on the WPU campus. We believe that by locating the Academies on the WPU campus, the quality of student life for both concerns will be severely compromised. The campus is too small to accommodate both groups without interaction, and due to the ill treatment of students, staff, and faculty at the hands of the administration, once congenial exchanges will be replaced with resentment directed towards the Academy students. WPU students and faculty have sacrificed much over the past 18 months and this proposed partnership serves to add insult to injury. We do not want to share our classrooms, offices, and common areas with high school students, nor do we want our beautiful campus littered with modular buildings. The consequence of this partnership moving forward will be that the signees of this petition, depending on their relationship to WPU, will consider the following; transferring out of WPU at the first available opportunity, withdrawing all financial support of WPU, and/or actively advocating against support for WPU or any WPU-related endeavors within our communities.

Your email address will not be published or provided to WPU or WCPSS.  You may choose to sign this petition anonymously and your name will not be included.  Please indicate in the comments field if you are a student, parent, faculty/staff member, community member, or alumna.

The WPU administration is currently gambling with our campus culture and they think we will just sit back and take it. We are approaching 250 signatures and we need to push past this mark immediately to prove they cannot ignore us. Send this link to anyone in the community who cares about the future of this university.

Enough is enough. WPU needs to stop acting against the interests of its own students.

I chose peace for the atmosphere and the small class sizes. Putting modular buildings everywhere is going to ruin the whole vibe of the place. Bad idea.

Leave our campus alone! We have enough chaos with the current staff issues without bringing in more students we dont have the space for.

Total disaster waiting to happen. The administration seriously needs to listen to the people actually paying tuition here.

This campus is way too small for this kind of setup. We have enough trouble finding parking and study space as it is without adding a whole high school into the mix.

Ridiculous proposal. If this moves forward I am definitely looking into transferring elsewhere next semester.
