This proposed facility is in fact only 30 metres from the bedroom window of an approved residence. While there is no objection to a recycling facility per se, the proposed location of this development is completely inappropriate. It is on the border between industrial and residential zones -and is close to two food outlets. It will have an adverse impact on the value of businesses in the area and will have a negative impact on the amenity of the area. Furthermore it is located on the main approach to Queanbeyan from Canberra - instead of the welcoming sign saying 'City benefits, Country living' it will be welcome to Queanbeyan the home of waste management!
