Say No to Udall Dog Park

I am absolutley against changing a park for people to a park for animals because it can significantly reduce the value of our residences

There is no need for a dog park, build a tennis court or something. Do something that will be useful for the community instead of a disturbance.

I found the end of the meeting very disturbing. I thought the point was well made, established and agreed on by all that Udall Park is not the right location for a dog park in Elk Grove. Instead of an up and down vote, the moderator suggested giving the Plaintiffs a chance to work on the long list of objections to see if they could find a workable solution. The Elk Grove Park District representative, after much hesitation in responding, suggested a Focus Group. REALLY?! Wasn’t the meeting focus enough for him? Also, in his presentation at the beginning of the meeting he said that a survey was done and it was found the Elk Grove wants a dog park. AGAIN, REALLY?! And exactly who was surveyed? Was it the residents who live near Udall Park? Were we ever consulted? For all the apartment buildings and condos in that area, which also backs up to the Industrial Park, Udall Park IS our backyard!!!!!!!!!! Also, it is bad enough to suggest a dog park in that area, but to issue MEMBERSHIPS to non-residents – REALLY?! Are they kidding with this? The streets are already narrow; kids frequently run from one side of the street to the other, and we should compromise our safety in the area by opening it up to strangers? The question is no longer about a dog park in Elk Grove, this issue has more to do with whether it is feasible in a residential area filled with apartment buildings badly in need of a park and green space. The focus group element is over. That was done last night with the residents!

Against the dog park

My family and I would love to keep the Udal Park the way it is now.

I work from home and this is not something I would want. Or to have dogs from my building barking at dogs during the day at dogs that are in the park. Children use that park. I think it is a poor use.

I am not in favor of this park! This will encourage non-residents to park in our parking spaces. The parking lot is already being abused with people parking there that don’t belong there. Also we don’t need any extra noise! we have the airplanes flying over us every five minutes!

The very idea of putting a three(3) acre dog park into a three(3) acre park in an all residential area is ludicrous. You cannot be serious.

As long term residents of Park place condominiums i am strongly against establishing this dog park . This is posing issue of disturbance of peace in our residential neighborhood.
