Say No to the Re-vote
We are issuing this petition to formally speak out against the movement of Transportation Workers Union (TWU) to re-vote on the rejected Transition Agreement (TA) with the Virgin American Flight Attendant (Inflight Team Members) workgroup. The original vote was valid, legally binding and presented no evidence of fraud. Also, the TA has not been renegotiated; therefore, no justification for a re-vote is present.
Those of us in opposition to the ratification of this TA, a majority with 54.8%, demand that all harassment attempts to solicit a re-vote through emails, text messages, social media posts and through hosting "informational" sessions in the workplace cease immediately. We would like the Negotiating Team (NT) and its members to discontinue endorsement of the TA that has already been rejected as well as discontinue promoting the idea of a re-vote. We are demanding that all harassment and bullying by the NT members to individuals that wish to express their opposition on social media websites cease immediately and that the members of the NT refrain from commenting on such posts altogether, unless specifically asked a question.
TWU's representative Thom McDaniel and his team have been requesting emails in favor of a re-vote and discouraging emails from ITMs with opposing views. This is our response to those requests. By signing this petition, we stand together in support of the validity of the results of the original vote and in support of the process of true democracy.
