NO! No one wants a large Casino with millions visiting in the Powhite area proposed. The city already has just about ruined Western Forest Hill with all the nearby Condo and Apartment Complexes, and the Brewery and Apartment complex built on Forest Hill behind the elementary school near Janke Road. These buildings are too big and do not fit that neighborhood overwhelming the whole area. Now you want to add a Casino?
We were already contemplating moving out of the city to one the neighboring counties given Richmond's high taxes, reduced services, endless erection of buildings, traffic, and corruption through the years. This will be the final nail in the coffin. NO ONE WANTS the Casino. REMOVE this location from consideration....NOW.
Now if You want to do something constructive for the residents in our area I have a great idea............
Looking back at the Mayor's Obsession (with the support of some or all of Council), with removing statues on Monument Avenue at great cost during a Pandemic due to the racial history involved in erecting these, we should now take the next step which I know most, if not all residents where I live would support..............
Given the heinous Racial motivations of our white caucasian friends back in the 60's to ANNEX our area from Chesterfield county to suppress and limit the power of people of color back then.......IT IS TIME. We cannot let such a heinous act stand in 2021. Return our area to Chesterfield county NOW. It's the the right thing to do given the History here. If you know the History, you have to know why this now must be done.
Racism can never be the motivation of any act according to our Mayor and Council. I think all the neighbors in my area would agree. Release us all from the weight of this Racist act of the 60's, and set us all on a fresh new path away from the terrible decision made by those in the 60's............IT IS TIME.

Forest hill cannot handle an increase in traffic.
