The Board of Trustees has proposed sellingVillage property located at the north end of Pine Acres to the new owners of the Jon Thomas Inn. This is being contemplated and actively pursued by the Board in order to provide the JTI with additional parking to allow for a substantial increase in seating capacity.

Prior to being divested of authority over this project, the Planning Board had requestedbut had never been provided a complete and detailed site plan. The Planning Board had raised concerns aboutthe lack ofadequate parking,sewer capacity, and electrical service and those concerns have not been addressed. In addition, a variance may be requiredfor this multi-use property (residential apartments in addition to the restaurant). The Mayor and the Board of Trustees has not at all considered these important safety issues.

There is no significant benefit to the Village in giving up its property. Theproposed parking lot would negatively impact the aesthetics of the Village, especially at its northern-most access point. The proposed salewould impact important greenspace considerations and create a greater traffic nuisance, negatively impacting the nearby property owners and the Village as a whole. Ceding Village property solely to enhance the value of private commercial interests in contrary to the best interests of the Village itself and inconsistent with the Board's obligations as custodians and caretakers of Village assets.

The undersigned is opposed to the proposed saleas contemplated by the Mayor and the Board of Trustees.
