Brilliant service at present - why change to allow a company to make money at the expense of local jobs, community and convenience???

There is no need for a pharmacy in castletown. The doctors surgery provides everything needed and most people can get to one in thurso or wick whilst doing their weekly shop if necessary.

There's no need for one.... a dispensing doctors is so important to the local community, and the staff there are just fabulous and more than helpful!

We don't need it and we don't want it because we need our local GP Surgery and Dispensary and the excellent services they provide, along with the existing Pharmacies in the area.

I am disabled with limited mobility - if this pharmacy goes ahead they will not only stop me getting the 16 repeat prescriptions I currently use, but will also prevent me access to a GP - I think it is disgusting if the NHS would even consider giving this company the relevant permission required - I am entitled to access to a GP so what do they intend to do - send one out to me - I DONT THINK SO - at the moment it is not even possible to get my prescriptions delivered to me - The only option that I think will be open to me should I need a GP\medical assistance in the event of no Canisbay Surgery would be for me to dial 999 - I wonder how many more poor people will be put in this position - and also what would be the consequences of such actions - I dread to think

Having a pharmacy is going to be detrimental to the area as this could lead to further job losses and also the possible closure of the practice. This in turn would put more pressure on our already fragile healthcare and A&E and a very busy Caithness General Hospital, which could really do without any further adding to their already overflowing workload.

We do not need a pharmacy in Castletown. We have an excellent dispensary services within the Castletown/Canisbay Medical practices which fully service our needs. A pharmacy will jepordise the medical practices and the excellent service we enjoy. No Pharmacy here!

Following the closure of the local freezer factory, the decline in decent shops in the village and the embarrassment of the burned out Indian takeaway (formerly a cafe), most locals would agree that SOMETHING is needed to lift the village from our now infamous “dark ages”.
That SOMETHING, however, is NOT a pharmacy, as the dispensary is quite sufficient for our needs, and the practice, alongside the post office, is probably the most reliable of services we are ever likely to have.

As a resident of Casteltown Village for nearly 40years, mother of a diabetic son, I DO NOT want this pharmacy, we have an excellent service within the doctors surgery. Why would we want a total stranger dealing with our medical needs! PLEASE STOP THIS STUPID PROPOSAL AND APPLICATION

The Canisbay/Castletown surgeries provide an excellent service and coverage; the proposed Apple pharmacy would threaten the surgeries' income and survival, and is to be resisted.
I can't imagine why health boards are supporting such applications, since dispensing surgeries are so popular with patients and they dispense drugs more cheaply to the NHS than do pharmacies. It's astonishing that any damage to
local surgeries isn't part of the Pharmacy Services consideration.
Were any such pharmacy to result in closure of Castletown and/or Canisbay practices, there would be a net loss of local jobs.
Patients forced to go to Wick or Thurso for GP services wold hardly trip to Castletown to fill prescriptions, but would surely do so local to their new GP practice.
Presumably any Apple pharmacy would also seek to increase possible revenue by acting as a retail outlet for toiletries, gift and food items, thereby threatening further local businesses.

Cannisbay and Casletown surgeries provide an excellent service, far better than Thurso or Wick. Thurso will only get worse and harder for existing people to get appointments if people from Cannisbay get diverted there.
I honestly cannot see the point of a pharmacy seperate from the surgeries - why ? It will hardly be a fraction as efficient.
I doubt the new pharmacy if it succeeds would even do well. Someone who now uses the Cannisbay service, if having been to a doctor in Thurso will not stop at Castletown on the way home but get any prescription in Thurso while still there. It would be pointless to stop again at the unwnated Castletown pharmacy.

No need for the Apple Pharmacy. Would be a big mistake to get rid of the dispensing General Practices in Castletown an Canisbay.
