The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, & CalTrans have created the "North Watt Avenue" Project. The 3 miles area for these plans will include Watt from Peacekeeper, to Antelope Rd.

Once you get passed the landscaping, bike lanes, shaded bus stops, & their jargon about "safety", a "calmer traffic environment", and "better experience of the corridor for users" you'll see the bottom line= A MINIMUM OF 2 ADDITIONAL LANES OF TRAFFIC" for a total of (min) 6 lanes of traffic!!

WHEN DOES ADDING MORE LANES EVER REDUCE TRAFFIC CONGESTION?

Any businesses, or parking areas, in close proximity to Watt Ave, in this 3 miles stretch, is at risk of being taken via "Right of Way Take" (or what you may know as eminent domain"). Pay attention the next time you drive it, & you'll see how many of our local businesses are at risk. And while property owner may be "fairly compensated" for their property, small business owners, & their employees won't be!

This project does not increase, expand, or provide more access to public transit. This plan does not provide serious cyclists, access to the more used, & popular bike trails. This plan does NOTHING to provide a safer way to get to our light rail station. Pedestrians and cyclists who value their safety will NEVER use Watt, under the tracks to get to Light Rail, at Watt & the freeway.

This plan will turn our North Highlands Community into nothing more than a thoroughfare for development to the north of us. Where was the concern for the the North Highlands Community, & the impact that the Ridgepoint, & Antelope developments, 10 yrs ago? These developments led to more traffic, the migration of NH businesses further north.

Now they have their sights set on more development north of Elverta Rd and PFC, which will only ADD to the problem. Note that one of the listed "stakeholders" is Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA).

Say YES to road, bike lane, & bus stop improvements SAY NO to 6 lanes of traffic, & the loss of NH small businesses, jobs, & housing.
