SAY NO TO THE GOVERNMENT OF ST.LUCIA OPENING THE BORDERS FOR INTERNATIONAL TOURIST AMID THIS COVID-19
Health before wealth. Let's send out a strong message to the Prime Minister and this cabinet of Ministers especially the tourism minister that he needs to reconsider they decision to open out borders to tourist coming from the USA a country where it have record and keeps recording the highest growing numbers of COVID-19 COVID-19 positive cases. Our very first transmission was imported we have done well in dealing and controlling the virus.please dont allow the government to open our border and blow this out of proportion. We are not ready to accept tourist to our island.should your dissatisfaction by signing this petition to say no to the opening of our borders!

One hundred of us have already signed to protect our families and keep our island safe. Seeing this growing concern gives me hope that we can convince the government to prioritize our health over incoming revenue.

I have spent my mornings reading the personal stories you are leaving here and my heart aches for every family worried about our safety. We fought so hard to keep this virus off our island and I refuse to watch all that effort disappear for the sake of tourism profit. I am currently working on a formal letter to the Ministry to ensure they see the names of the people who demand health comes before wealth.

The lives of our people is more important than the money from corona infected tourist. The government should invest their remaining funds in agriculture. It will reduce our import bill, reduce the price of food, and create more secure jobs for the people.
I am very afraid for our nation's children , teachers, ancillary workers who will be exposed to the visitors, and by extension the many households and the entire population that will suffer if Hod forbid there is an outbreak.
I don't think we are ready for the ramifications of such a decision. Why are the borders,being opened under a state of emergency. We are putting citizens lives in danger and to top it off you want me to send my daughter to school at the same time you want to open the borders. I say no!
I think our government are foolish to put our island at risk like this and allow USA tourist into our country. We are a small nation who have kept our population virtually virus free. What thought process led to inviting the worst hit country, who's numbers are STILL climbing, in first?
Do not open borders so quickly, especially to the U.S. Because you can get tested today, results say negative Go about your business and still get corona before arriving on our island. It’s not safe for our population

I live in NY and have seen and felt the effects of covid-19. America has the highest case and death of this virus and as a result, I don't think our country should expose our citizens. What's the rush when America is still in danger.
