Whomever approves this will be responsible for devaluing our properties and creating light, noise, and chemical pollution. The lettuce factory will take from and pollute our well water and lake water, leaving my family dry and fish dead.

This is not a traditional farm - it is an- industrial lettuce factory. It belongs in an industrial park with the proper zoning and infrastructure. At the VFT lettuce factory, the proposed size of the first plastic Greenhouse building in Phase 1 will be nine acres in size. Mindboggling. The factory is allowed unlimited use of water and just the estimated use of water is equal to 1,000 head of cattle. This is mindboggling... the current farm has perhaps only at most 100 head of cattle. Where is the code to restrict abusive water use? The greenhouse lighting will glow for a radius of 6 miles at night-the night will be bright. Are there no Gov. Codes to protect us from light pollution? The lettuce factory will be constantly heated…just think of the environmental /atmospheric heat spillover. This factory belongs in special agricultural Zoning area.
I am especially opposed to this factory coming to Senseny Road which is a traditional, residential road with homes and farms. There are two very large professional thoroughbred racehorse stables and racehorse breeding farms located directly across the road from the proposed lettuce factory ! This is not proper or “smart growth planning”. The zoning is somehow wrong if it allows VFT Global Industry to be established in this normal farm area. The citizen and environment need to be protected (protected by proper government codes and regulation) from savvy corporate investors looking for quick profit. . The private resident and farm need protection and help - not Wall Street corporate investors.

Allowing this new technology under the guise of agriculture is wrong. Farms do not emit light in hours of darkness- they don’t put wells in jeprody.

This is a factory, not a farm. It needs to be where other factors are, where the infrastructure can support it without jeopardizing people's homes. This will cause light pollution, noise pollution decreasing quality of life to residences in the area. I day no to this factory in Clarke county. No value added here.

This factory farm is not good for Clarke County- or anywhere, for that matter. Lettuce only needs 12 to 14 hours of light to grow. Anything over that would not only never be found in nature, but it will also decimate our night sky views with light pollution. We must stop this corporate factory farm and protect our citizen's water, land, and skies. At the very least, we must put night sky protections in place to preserve our home.
