An unknown entity is planning on building a 9+ acre hydroponic lettuce factory on Senseny Road in Clarke County, Virginia. The green house building will pollute the night sky (Picture is 1 acre building) and take water resources (50,000 gallons a day) from the surrounding farms and homes. The factory could request local and state tax resources to fund the building and operations of the facility.
Stop the county and state from letting a factory be built in Clarke County calling it agricultural farming when it is a factory in the middle of a farming community.

I have been hearing from so many of you about the potential impact on our water tables and local landscape. It is truly humbling to see such a dedicated community coming together to protect our home because I never imagined this would grow beyond a few neighbors talking in a driveway.

Ground water is a precious resource, and this monstrosity would evidently put that resource at risk for all of us in the vicinity. Will they reimburse for newer, deeper wells for all those affected? I doubt it. In addition, the light pollution would likely dramatically alter the night sky, due to refracted light.
This entreprise should not be approved without addressing the concerns of the community with regards to light pollution, water usage, tax subsidies, and additional road traffic.
I am concerned about the water usage as I live down the road and on a well. Also the light pollution will be obnoxious. If I wanted that kind of sky, I would have moved to the city. It will also kill my real estate values.
We moved to Clarke County from S. Eastern Va in large part to avoid heavy traffic, industrial growth and the associated pollution and constant resource challenges that unchecked development bring. This facility comes with all the things we moved here to avoid.
I am the at least the 5th generation to own Janeville Farm .It was part of the Lord Fairfax Grant Prior to the Revolutionary War . We have a duty to protect and preserve this beautiful area for ecological and historical reasons .
Clarke County is a Agricultural/farm county not Industrial. You are taking away our fresh well water by putting in hundreds of wells to run this facility and ruining the beautiful landscape. I'm saying NO to this development of a hydroponic lettuce factory.

I live at 4378 Senseny Road. This factory will be the view from my front porch. Would you want it to be yours? Don't allow this industrial operation! It will absolutely ruin the country life we are desperately trying to preserve. NO LETTUCE FACTORY !
