We the citizens of Carrizo Springs, Dimmit County, Texas wish to voice our opinions on the establishment of the Carrizo Springs DHS Family Residental Facility. This type of facility will bring nothing but hardship to the community, it will not bring in jobs or resources. The facility will undoubtfully bring a rise in taxes, population and possibly crime. A facility such as this has the potential to bring forth lawsuits from human rights activists against our community. Homelessness is running rampant in our country as it is; why not address that issue before we bring in others to support. The focus needs to be on the safety and well-being our children, families and communtiy members first and foremost. We the People of Dimmit County neither want nor need this facility in our community. We are asking; No, we are demanding that our elected officals do what is right for our community and decline this and any future offers to establish this type of facility in our county.
