Although I have read about, listened to, and thought about the advantages of the Clarion County Courthouse proposed annex, I still cannot agree with the project. I respect many people (including the commissioners) who are in favor, however, I have not been convinced.
Living near the courthouse, I have walked on the sidewalk (which will be lost) thousands of times. One of my favorite horse chestnut trees will be lost from the west side view of the courthouse. It is a beautiful view of a magnificent building which we must do all within our power to protect. It is heartbreaking to think of losing this historic perspective.
Yes, the courthouse needs a great deal of work but money should be used there for structural improvements and updated technology.
People who are against the annex are positive people. We are positive that the annex would be an eyesore compared to the beautiful courthouse. We are positive that citizens were blindsided by the reveal of the project. We are positive that there are better solutions.

If this is such a good idea why was this done behind everyones back and not put on the ballot? How much of a kickback did the commisioners get to do this?

Do the Commissioners have an estimated cost on the Courthouse with or without this anex that will be added to our debt?

This should have been on the ballot. And just how much is the Courthouse renovation going to cost if this annex is built?

This annex Is going to deface a national landmark with some unnecessary extension. Use one of the abandoned buildings around town, renovate it for millions less than this overpriced annex is gonna cost.

This is the Dumbest I have heard and they didn't even want the citizens of the county know they were working on plans till they were ready to build. That is not how leadership works. Boot them out

I feel that the Annex is a waste of the tax payers money and the decission to build shouldn't only be a decission of the County Commissioners and the high muckiety mucks that feel they own the county because they got money to burn. I believe that buildings need to be torn down if not being used for any real purpose they eventually become eyesores because they become delapatated . So either fix what you got or do without Do we really want another debt looming over Clarion County? I think not so fellow citizens of Clarion County stand your ground and fight to stop the Annex.
