Dear friends of Bayport,

The Outlaw Acres horse property located at 819 Sylvan Avenue in Bayport has been sold. The developer has applied for a zone change to allow for the development of senior town homes. As many have noticed there has been a surplus of "Over 55" housing in this small area and we have had enough. Bayport is a beautiful hamlet and should be preserved.

The town of Islip Planning Board meeting is scheduled for September 6th at 6:30pm and the town needs to hear ALL of our voices. If you would like the opportunity to speak please arrive earlier then the scheduled meeting to sign up. Bayport is a beautiful Hamlet and it needs to be preserved.

Please sign this petition and say NO to the proposed zone change.

We love Bayport for its old fashioned small town feel. Traffic is already becoming unbearable. The condos bordering Sunrise Hwy were somehow quietly snuck in and so many acres of green land were bulldozed, leaving wild turkeys roaming the streets, and foxes in our neighborhoods. Stop destroying our town and tearing down woods and natural wildlife habitat to put up more and more condos and assisted living residences. Enough is enough. We do not want to become congested like Nassau county, now that Nassau has become like Queens.

why can't the town preserve the land and perhaps make a natural park-like area there, perhaps even a nature walk around trails.. Or how about an arboretum, like Bayard Cutting?? Where is it written that every single piece of land must be developed to the utmost?? I love propose that we make it an arboretum!! Whose with me??

This would create more traffic to an already crowded roadway coming off Sunrise going South as well as out of Sylvan Avenue and turning right onto Nichols. Unfortunately due to work obligations I cannot make the meeting. The greed has to stop,

Suffolk County is becoming far too over-developed. The Town of Islip needs to start listening to its tax-paying constituents and not deep-pocketed developers who give to their campaigns. Enough already. No one needs this development. We need to preserve the green space we have left. The Great South Bay is experiencing one of the worst red tides in history because of the overpopulation of Long Island. The developers purchased at a bargain price because of the zoning. They should not be allowed to reap a windfall at the taxpayers' expense. The Town Board needs to vote no on this proposed zone change.

Sylvan Ave can not support the Traffic from this type of development. Its not only the Residents Traffic that would increase but all the commerce and transient traffic. It was always said the Farm would be subdivided to support 8 1 acre houses.

Enough of these buildings. Most of these over 55 housing are not affordable to the average senior. This zone change is to put money into the developers hands.

Stop the building. Keep our area free of more 55 and over developments. Enough is enough.
