Enough is enough. None of us signed up to this. If changes need to be made for new recruits then so be it, but it is morally and ethically unfair that officers who signed up to all the conditions that were apparent when they joined, are now forced into new conditions which don't reflect what they signed up for

I am a police officer in London and recently the amount of bad news we have been given is incredible. Most of it resulting in us having less time for a life outside of the job. The extra 8 working days per year as a response officer, with no extra pay or time compensation, is utterly ridiculous. The amount of unavoidable overtime we do is only going to increase as our workload gets higher and staff numbers get less. And now this?! We are police officers, but more importantly we are human beings, with lives and families and friends. We deserve bank holidays as much as anyone else. We are relied upon in fairly far too much, it seems to be an attitude of "the police will do it, they can cope" not taking into account HOW we will do it, or what effect it has on us. This insane. Please do not cut what precious time off we have, please remember we are people, not machines.

Another way that the government intend to save money with a ludicrous idea. BH's are our only near luxury. Stop ruining a great job. In the future no-one will want to be a copper at this rate.
