The resurfacing of Virginia Street is happening now.
However the Council have commissioned SPEED HUMPS to be constructed.
Sign the petition if you don't want the speed humps.
As Virginia Street is a major road into town these humps will further affect the
businesses because fewer people will bother to travel into the town centre?
It is also a bus route and it is doubtful that the buses will be able to 'miss' all the humps.
It will also affect traffic on
Scarisbrick New Road (which is already extremely busy) as traffic will increase down there, in a similar way to
the traffic on Preston New Road has been affected by Rufford Road.
People just won't bother trying to get to town and shop out-of-town
or on the internet.
buses will be shaking the houses apart driving over them all day. bad idea for a main road.
