I live in Tennessee and an avid hiker, I would not want to hike this close to a shooting range no matter how safe someone might say it is. When a gun is involved you never can say something is safe.

There is so much at stake here. Not only the short distance from the Cumberland Trail, but the extremely close proximity to several present and future residences. It just so happens that the proposed shooting range will be much closer than a mile to the Cumberland Trail, especially at the point right across the street. This fact is being misrepresented by the proposed shooting range owner and the local newspaper.

I do not agree to a shooting range near a state park where people take their families to enjoy the beauty of nature

Although I do not currently live in the area directly affected by this range, I do have a good friend who does and plan to spend lots of time there-- provided tranquility and safety!!

I am anavid shooter but I hate the noise of guns. I respect peace and quiet and there is no reason to build yet another range when the current ones on present day WMAs should suffice. This range borders on insolence and flat out disregard of the trail system in place, etc.

There are homes right across the street and all around that property for one. Then there is a state park which families will be enjoying until all the gun fire then that section of park will hardly be used because no one wants to be in the beautiful "peaceful" gun range forest.

I love spending time in this beautiful area on a regular basis. There are always wildlife encounters, be it wild turkeys or huge bucks crossing the road. The area is quiet, scenic, and a break from the city. Don't let them demolish this pristine paradise and violate the area with noise pollution!

Who would think a shooting range next to home sites was a good idea. As for near the State Park "really". I am for our gun rights and will defend those. I love shooting and hunting but do not wish to hear gun shots all day long. We haven't even started talking about the accidents that will occur. Leave the piece and quiet alone, there are shooting ranges all over Hamilton County both indoor and outdoor.

I don't have a problem with a shooting range in any way but I couldn't imagine why they would want to put this near a TN state park.

Why does this keep becoming an issue for chattanooga? Keep the shooting ranges FAR away from where kids, families, and pets hang out!

Why would you destroy suck a beautiful place to turn it into a shooting range? And ruin the peace of lives.
