No to the eviction of the New Brighton SDA primary school .
Honourable Minister
We write deep concern regarding to the decision to remove a functioning school from public works premises in order to make space for the church. This decision makes serious questions about the prioritisation of education and future of the children currently enrolled at this institution.
Education is not a privileged it is a fundamental right . Displacing leaners especially those who are from historically disadvantage communities disrupts not their academic process but also their sense of stability , safety and hope.
We ask why are the needs of these children being set aside. Why their future be compromised when they are already attending and benefitting from this school.
We are not against places of worship . However, It should never come at the cost of a child's education. Schools build a nation ,they shape leaders ,professionals and responsible Citizens .
Removing such institution sends a painful message about whose future being valued.
Reconsider this decision
Engage with the community , parents and educators
Protect the learners right to uninterrupted education .
Our children deserve better . Their education must remain a priority

Church must find another property and leave children to remain in their school. Why inconveniencing the kids at this time of the year, No to Eviction!

The future of those kids is at stake. How can they be expected to be out of school at this time of the year?
