The proposed development of Autumn Leaves Memory Care facility by LaSalle Development in Glen Ellyn (Bloomingdale and Geneva Rds) would require rezoning of a residential lot. There is no justification for rezoning this lot to allow a commercial development in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Doing so directly conflicts with the Village of Glen Ellyn's Comprehensive Plan which intended this area to be single-family homes (which it currently is), and sets a dangerous precedent for future rezoning requests. If the Board of Trustees agrees to this they are sending a message that the Village is more concerned with tax dollars than with the quality of life of its residents.

I have been reading through the notes you leave here and the stories about our neighborhood are truly moving. It is clear that we value the character of our homes far more than any tax revenue the village might gain. I am working to gather our points for the upcoming board meeting and I am just humbled to see so many neighbors feeling the same way.

I truly never imagined that so many neighbors would feel this strongly about protecting our community. This momentum belongs entirely to the people who spoke up to preserve our homes.

If they allow this one then every lot is up for grabs. Really bad idea for the village board.

Seriously? The traffic is already bad enough at that intersection without adding a facility. Keep it residential.

Not the right spot for this facility at all. Find a commercial space somewhere else and leave our homes alone.

Keep our neighborhood residential. We dont need more commercial traffic on those streets.

Ridiculous. We bought our homes here specifically because it was quiet residential zoning. Dont change the rules now just for tax money.

STOP THE REZONING. This is purely for profit and ruins the whole vibe of the neighborhood.
