Raymond Mc Creesh was a local patriot, the people of Barcroft/Ballybot are very proud to have a park named after him

I believe the name has to stay. A great man from Irish history whose name will never be forgotten. Not should it be.

I had the privilege of knowing Raymond in the few years before his death and I can safely say he was one of the best human beings I ever met.

James Connolly Park, Michael Mallin Park, Emmet St, Cochrane Road, John Mitchel Street and others all Newry streets named after people that have been involved in Ireland struggles for self determination. We cannot whitewash the past. If the same parties that so actively object to the name of the park, had engaged as actively with Haas concerning how we deal with the past, then sitautions like this might be addressed. Its also selective acceptance of Equality Commissions determinations, as they choose to ignore their determination on same sex marriage and gay adoption..
