I welcome the food that this business would bring to town, but NOT the late night scene that it would bring (noise, traffic, safety issues). I believe the Senator's Lounge will occupy the Village property, which had hookah smoking going on... I was opposed to that aspect of the business then, still opposed to it now.

As a recent guest of the Days Inn, which is right next door to the proposed project, I would like to voice my objection to the approval of the establishment. I stayed at the Days Inn while my husband was a patient at City of Hope. I am not alone. Many families and out patients from the City of Hope stay at the Days Inn. Allowing a Nightclub/hookah lounge to operate in Duarte, known for the City of Hope, would be irresponsible. Please reconsider this proposal and restrict it from your City.

Duarte being family friendly and also having schools which is tobacco free, should not entertain such business.

Let's make Duarte a healthy and safe city where everyone's well-being is placed above commerce and profit. There must surely be other businesses we could welcome to our town, that would bring us real benefit, rather than a harmful hookah bar / nightclub.

Do not allow this in out town. This will only bring and attract trouble. We need to keep Duarte family orientated and family friendly, safe and a place where family’s want to be.

This business can prove to be nuisance for our family oriented town. It will have bad influence on our youth. It will not only create negative image and unsafe environment for neighborhood, but also increase criminal activities. This business has no place in our town.

Every year in October our city organizes the red ribbon week which is a tobacco prevention awareness campaign. Every school in Duarte from elementary to high school promotes the red ribbon week by planning fun celebration days such as wear red day and put a red sock etc. Just within 1 mile radius of this new hookah lounge there are two high schools. What kind of confusing and misleading message are we giving to our students? Definitely say no to this hookah lounge for our kids sake!

Absolutely not. We are a family city and I've been a property owner with my family 52 years. We don't want or need this.
