Say NO to New Abraar School Uniforms

I have already purchased uniforms for the next year during an online sale event at OLD NAVY. Shirts for $5 and dresses and pants for $10. Shipping was free! This company is very expensive. In addition, there was no tender to get the contract with Abraar. The argument that children feel better and prouder about the school when they wear the exactly same uniform is unsubstantiated. My kids had expensive custom-made uniforms with a school logo in Emirates and the school environment was just terrible as in many other schools there.

I do not agree with the new school uniform policy. Parents should be consulted when such decisions are made and the reasons for the change should be communicated. There must be a very compelling reason for this new uniform change given how much burden it is putting on the school administration and parents. These reasons should be shared in order for everyone to understand and be on board. I will have three kids in school next year and since we started attending Abraar 4 years ago there has been more changes to the uniform than I would like. It is a waste to have to not be able to use items from the previous year. I look for sales and buy items on sale to reduce the financial burden on our family. I do not like being forced to purchase from a specific vendor for a much higher price for no compelling reason (if there is one, please share or resolve with in other ways). I feel as though our time, money, efforts and brain power is better spent on other more pressing items.

Beside price issue, I don't like the return or exchange policy.

I will be using uniforms that still fit my daughter from this year. Throwing away clothing because the school wants us to purchased from a specific vendor... haram. Seriously. I'm not wasting clothing like that. also I do not purchase from websites with no return policy. I will continue to purchase from old navy/ gap.

I have 2 children in Abraar and to purchase their uniforms including the shirts and pants and hijabs from the school vendor it will cost me $650 in total. I usually order the uniforms from old navy each year for $5 a piece and I can exchange or return anytime. JazakumAllahukairaan

Shades will change once washed. Some children will wear hand me downs from sibblings down the line and their uniform colors wont be the same as others who are wearing new. The only way i see this working is if this vendor plans on coming to the school on a monthly basis and having sales. This would give us a chance to try out the sizes, save on shipping, and save with the fact the items are on special.

As many parents have voiced, there are many other critical and time-sensitive issues in education that Abraar needs to focus on and put their time into. Why do they insist on spending countless administrative hours on uniforms year after year? Totally agree with Marwa that the current dress code specially for high school girls needs to be taught and implemented.

I don't think the adminstration should burden parents and force them to purchase from a single retailer. This seems excessive. As was pointed out, the retailer doesn't offer the best prices and doesn't appear very flexible. And what assurances do we have that prices won't increase once he has a monopoly on Abraar uniforms. When will the school start considering parents opinions and circumstances rather than taking arbitrary decisions that impact us and our children?

It is putting a burden on us as parents! We have always respected the dress code and I feel that we are being penalized because a few may not be abiding by the dress code.

Can we perhaps focus on ensuring that the current dress code is properly enforced and focus our efforts on more important issues?

I hope the school reconsiders this decision as there are many more important issues for the school to address and for parents to spend valuable money on!

This new uniform policy would definetely be a unnecessary burden for us.
