No need for a community damaging non sustainable business model like McDo in Tervuren

Let's not get increased traffic around schools and push children and teens towards poor dietary choices

Such a project will have a huge negative impact on the mobility of an already very problematic road, it will increase significantly the risk of accidents (increasing the risks for children and teenagers), will use the resources of a corporate multinational to compete against small local producers and will offer scientifically tested unhealthy food to the students of four schools.

Ik las vorige week in De Standaard dat Tervuren 10% minder verkeer nastreeft tegen 2030. Dan zou de komst van een fastfood keten een verkeerde beslissing zijn. Groen licht voor een steenweg met ketens, lichtvervuiling én meer verkeersdrukte, dat wil toch niemand. Geen Las Vegas in Tervuren, aub! We willen toch de meest leefbare gemeente blijven, niet?

Eveneens verontwaardigd door deze aanvraag, sluit ik mij aan bij de terechte argumenten van voorafgaande bezwaren. Niet te verstaan dat hiermee een precedent worden geschapen, groen licht voor een steenweg met ketens, lichtvervuiling én meer verkeersdrukte! Las ik niet onlangs in De Standaard dat Tervuren 10 % minder verkeer nastreeft tegen 2030???

Youth employment is important- this can be achieved in so many more sustainable & healthy ways. That results in pedestrian/cycle safety - healthy eating habits for the 4 schools & adult learning centre within 500m from the facility and to address the need to produce less plastic waste for the environment. Other solutions are possible that maintains safety, sustainability & health.

No Mc Donald in Tervuren! It’s already not easy to ride on Leuvensesteenweg with Carrefour! And there are no parking!

Reasons for objection to McDonald's in Tervuren: 1. Worsening traffic congestion 2. Proximity to schools making unhealthy food easily accessible for our young, especially teens 3. Drive-in services for cars are against our sustainability and green objectives 4. Making our kids vulnerable to distorting corporate marketing 5. Taking business away from local producers who provide more sustainable and healthier options, while not necessarily providing more employment
