There will be litter left everywhere, on the road, on the Carrefour parking, in the neighbouring park. They use cheapest ingredients, even if legally produced. We need now locally grown ingredients, respecting environment. Mc Do does intensive marketing trying to convince people that they are doing so. They play on words and concepts. We do not need Ronald Mc Donald at children's birthday parties, who destroy the children's taste. Moreover, Mc Do and other American based companies do not bring any advantage to Belgium or very little, as they have set up optimisation fiscal systems that are highly detrimental to all countries.

Bovendien hoort het Mcdonnald klienteel niet in Tervuren; het brengt veel overlast vooral op avonden en weekenden. Bespaar ons dit in onze gemeente dat het niet zoals in Brussel wordt! Dank u.

No place there for a MC Donald

This proposal for a McDonalds on the site next to several schools is opportunistic and I strongly object on the grounds that it undermines both parents’ and teachers’/the schools’ efforts to encourage healthy eating habits among young people to prevent an obesity crisis. The site is on a very busy street both in the morning (when local residents are driving to work and parents are dropping off their children. The crossing near the site is also extremely busy with young children crossing to walk to school. Parents may be discouraging their children to walk to school in future either in fear of crossing an even busier road or to avoid their children seeing the McDonalds and any peers eating such unhealthy fast food which would further exacerbate an already busy road. The constant traffic and pollution would also have a detrimental effect on the children walking to school from the tram stop along Leuvensesteenweg and those living in the neighbourhood and walking to and from school. In addition, the amenity of a beautiful park within short walking distance of the site proposed for the McDonalds is likely to encourage take away diners to eat and leave their rubbish wrappings and cups in the park. This would not only be unsightly in such a beautiful park but also potentially pose an environmental threat to the native birds and other wildlife that live an otherwise protected life in the park.

Increased traffic in front of a big school, increased risk of obesity for the children and not fitting with the overall mindset (local produce, local shops, no chains) in Tervuren

No Mc Donalds needed in Tervuren. I don’t see the added value for the community in Tervuren. Only inconveniences and disadvantages.

Junk food in front of a school is a horrible idea

I object on the basis of the location. It is an extremely dangerous and busy junction already with Carrefour and the two large schools. Better traffic planning is needed in this area as I have witnessed many close accidents. There is simply not enough safe space on this road for more traffic.

Objection! ! Do not agree to have a MacDonal in such a green and beautiful city like Tervuren. It completely ruins the peace and tranquility of the whole area.

The project will create job opportunities but it will ruin the health of the new generation, junk food is poison!
