This is crazy. Insurance company's make enough money off of us, and there is their licence to practice medicine? They shouldn't be allowed to over ride a doctor's judgement.

I was blessed to be able to give the gift of life to a friend in 2017. Since then, my life has been nothing short of miraculous, with new friends, medals at the Transplant Games of America, and a lifetime of brotherhood with my friend and kidney recipient. It doesn't surprise me that insurance companies would attempt to deny coverage to someone who is considering becoming a donor. In a fallen world such a predicament should not come as a surprise. Still, any law that prohibits discrimination against living donors should be passed without question. I fully support this legislature, and any other effort that allows both donors and recipients to live active and healthy lives.

Let's make this happen! There are so many people waiting for a life-saving kidney, and most donors go on to live normal, healthy, active lives with one kidney.

This bill would ease the mind of anyone who is considering being a living donor for a loved one, or a someone they might not know since altruistic donations are happening more and more. Someone should never be put in the predicament to say "no, I can't help save your life" because they are concerned with how insurance companies could discriminate against them if they became a living donor. Being a living donor has been the single best experience of my life and to think that someone considering donation might have to weigh their odds that insurance companies would do the right thing seems unfair. Time and time again, various insurance companies have not given patients reason to rest easy that they'd not put dollars ahead of a customer/patient's heath so this is why we NEED this bill! We need to support living donors, and give assurance to them that these insurance companies will not be able to discriminate for choosing to help save someone's life.

I received a amazing gift of a kidney from a Living Donor. A brave and compassionate Donor should NEVER be denied insurance coverage as result of their generous gift of LIFE!

This bill will help in making organ donation more appealing to donors.

I was so grateful to be able to donate a kidney to my husband in 2012 at Porter Adventist Hospital. We're both doing great! If living organ donors find it hard to get health insurance, it will discourage people from donating - and already there are over 100,000 Americans waiting for kidney transplants.
