There is no further construction involved in keeping Miller Avenue two lanes in each direction. That is how it was designed and how it is being built. What the City Council is trying to do is to change the approved plan weeks before the street is finished. It is a betrayal of the thousands of hours hundreds of residents put into the final design. The one lane pavement markings that now exists in the Parkway is just temporary to allow some parking during the construction process.

The first petition against the City Council's plan to slow traffic and increase congestion on half the length of Miller Avenue, garnered over 500 bona fide signatures from Mill Valley voters. The Council dismissed it without a single word of discussion and lied to the audience, saying that they had received more letters of support (35 letters) than against. It's time to let them hear the voices of the majority of Mill Valley residents loud and clear - Honor the community approved Streetscape Plan and maintain two lanes of traffic flow in each direction on Miller Avenue.

The idea of having a major artery leaving Mill Valley reduced to one lane, is LUDICROUS, to put it mildly; commuting to the city, to the High School, ease of access to business on Miller are just a few of the critical reasons why. Thank you.

Smooth traffic flow is a benefit to residents and a better choice than creating bottlenecks that harried drivers attempt to work-around.

Two lanes needed- perhaps if any council members lived on the area they could recognize the need.

After all this time we the residents, the people who you represent are finally seeing an end to this collosal (upgrade of Miller Ave.) project. Leave the one lane in and out past park alone it's worked for decades and with the new sidewalks and bike lane it will work even better. To increase this road access by adding another two lanes will impact local an business parking. Have a heart the business's need to recover. The residents need a break from the dust dirt and noise.

There are only two effective routes of ingress/egress from Mill Valley.
Blithedale traffic has already exceeded capacity (sometimes taking 15-20" to travel from Camino Alto to Why 101).
Reducing Miller Avenue access would undoubtedly make this an impossible transit.
We need more, not fewer, lanes for Mill Valley access.

The City Council's disregard for the "Community-Based Plan" which is the result of an exhaustive, inclusive and widely promoted public process - and their dismissal of community support for the approved plan (prior petition) disrespects the democratic process, the consensus and all those who participated. Honor the approved plan.
