This is a neighborhood of small single family homes. This apartment building does not fit the rest of the neighborhood.

We moved to this neighborhood because it was quiet and wooded. We will be moving OUT of this neighborhood if this massive apartment complex is built. Cramming 54 families into a building with no green space, a high traffic road, and on the edge of Minnetonka away from community services is a disservice to those who actually need this housing the most.

This will benefit no one except the pockets of the builders!!

A HUGE apartment building on this spot would look over-bearing and negatively impact the area. The environment in this area has suffered enough-Loss of Trees, Wetlands...The Watershed District should be involved. Find a good fit for this land. Keep the local businesses going Minnetonka! Listen to the people that live in the area. Minnetonka Resident.

There is no need for more housing, this makes no sense. Getting rid of these stores that have so much history in the area would be the greatest shame and a monumental disservice to these businesses.

We moved to Hopkins 30 years ago to enjoy the “small town” feel with many single family homes and a fantastic Mainstreet envied by many small suburbs. Over the years Hopkins has allowed more multi-story buildings to be built. I can tell you first hand that a large multi-story building recently constructed next to a residential neighborhood has added noise, traffic, and light pollution. (Lights are left on all night) The building has reduced privacy to our house and yard as it towers over our rambler. Please do not permit a 3+ story building to be built next to a residential neighborhood that will create noise and traffic issues for that neighborhood. Large towering structures are diluting the small town feel for Hopkins.

The last thing Hopkins needs is more apartment buildings! Chalet pizza is a Hopkins institution.

I also feel that type of development would not be a good idea. Focus should be on trying to maintain the current neighborhood feel - not high density housing.

I do not believe that the land being considered should be rezoned for high density apartments. The primary property should stay as commercial and the secondary property should stay as single family residential. Adding such large high density apartments so close to single family would dramatically change the characteristics of the current single family housing neighborhood. I have lived in a neighborhood where this happened and the children from the apartments hung out all over the neighborhood streets because the apartment building did not have nearby access to parks or recreation areas. This area also lack nearby access to parks or recreational areas that are needed for high density housing.

I live right off of Shady Oak Rd. Please listen to the voices of the people that live here. This is our city with an invested stake in property therefore we should get a say in how our community should be managed. We do not want a high density apartment complex in this area. Respect the demands of the people that live in this area and pay property taxes and vote for representives to manage our community. Do not defy us.

I recently purchased the property which directly touches the property line of this proposed apartment complex. I had no idea the intentions of the city for a low rise apartment complex or else I never would have. Everyday I go to work I watch new apartment complexes going up around Minneapolis and frankly it's getting old. That's why I moved to Minnetonka. For the beauty of the neighborhoods and family feel. Apartment complexes do nothing but depreciate in value and lower sourounding house values. Simply put, build this idea somewhere else. There are far better ways to enrich the already existing community in the area rather then adding a building that doesn't belong.

The proposed building would be completely out of character for this end of town and would adversely impact traffic in the area.
