  • A Service station is not permitted use under the Glen Ellyn C2 Community Commercial Zoning.
  • Increases traffic congestion and impairs safety for motorists and Forest Glen Elementary pedestrians.
  • 12 pump Shell station will be open 24/7 with bright lighting.
  • Environmental concerns such as a potential oil tank leaks, air pollution, cutting down of trees and air quality.
  • There are 8 gas stations within 4 miles of this location.
  • There are 2 convenience stores on the same block.
  • Does not align with the proposed Village Plans to maintain the location as the Historic Gateway of Glen Ellyn.

adding a gas station to this small space and corner is ridiculous specially considering the surrounding residents including the safety of the school

This is our “Gateway To Our Community”. No need for any more gas stations in this area, and, I can’t believe they just spent all the time and money to clean up that corner, and then they would even consider putting in another gas station!!! Absolutely reduculous!
