I am so sick of giving "free" stuff to criminals. I worked my butt off to pay for college. I will work continue to work my butt off to help put my kids through college. I already pay a disproportionately high tax rates - NO MORE!

this plan is absolutely ridiculous. the state should not be rewarded prisoners with a free education that hardworking and law abiding students take monstrous loans out to receive.

When is the WORKING stiff gonna get a break in this state???? Cuomo wants MORE of my money to fund more deadbeats???? Enough is enough! I can't afford to finish college because I don't qualify for any type of assistance... when do I get to finish what I started? My daughter has about 15 years worth of college debt - she didn't qualify for much help due to our working to have what we have, yet she managed to pay for her schooling on her own... but it'll be awhile before she can even think of going on for her master's degree. How about Cuomo guaranteeing high school students a free college education and keeping kids off the street and out of jails/prison?

I'll agree to it when everyone else gets a free education first.

tax payers already pay to incarcerate, house, and feed the criminals and now we are expected to pay for their education when the working, law abiding citizen has to pay their own way?

This is a matter that should be decided by the voters. In my opinion, this has to be one of the most absurd wastes of taxpayer money in my 40+ years in this state.

What about law abiding citizens that can't afford an college education. They lose out over criminals? What are we coming to?

Instead of giving free education to those who didn't follow the rules of our society, we should put funds towards aiding those who abide by the law and who are struggling to afford the education that everyone else has to pay for.

How can this even be suggested with a straight face!? This one needs to be filed with the rest of the idiotic ideas that come from our illustrious elected officials, like giving "undocumented workers" NYS ID cards!

You could help fund say yes to education which pays for college tuition for low income areas. This would help give the education to kids BEFORE they ended up jail.
