Our children need an internet safety curriculum before any program is even considered. I have inquired about what is being done to teach internet safety and never received a response.

Children need their education to be mainly from the teachers and support staff they interact with each day. Self guided education and increaded screentime in schools will not lead to well rounded, successful, contributing adults.

This Summit type of teaching is absolutely ridiculous. The kids are coming home so frustrated and crying that they don’t understand it. There’s something to be said about teaching the old fashion way with teacher-student interaction and being engaged as a student. They learn so much better than an online program teaching it. In this day, Kids needs more human interaction than computer interaction. Teachers are frustrated, parents are frustrated but most importantly students are frustrated and are not learning anything.

Please put our kids first and hear why this isn’t working for a lot of kids. We would like teachers to do what they have always done and teach our kids so that they can enjoy science and other subjects again.

It is my duty as a parent to keep my child safe. I don’t trust any platform associated with the maker of Facebook, whether it’s stated the information collected is private or not. We all know this has not been the case. He lied once and he continues to lie.

I have personally seen how the implementation of this program has been without proper training for teachers and administrators, to the detriment of our children. I think Cheshire is going down the wrong road here.

I am signing this petition because of the following reasons. 1. The online content is poor, unstructured, and makes learning it an exercise in memorization and test taking. 2. This aspect of the Summit platform has only been in existence for 3 years. 3. There are no studies that have conclusively shown that personalized learning is a success; especially with already high performing districts like Cheshire. 4. Based on the last CPS Curriculum meeting the school administration has no detailed formalized plan to evaluate this program.
