Village has enough coffee shops, all independent just the way it should be in a village!

I agree with all the comments made in the main objection. Pangbourne IS a village, not a town or suburb where multi-chains work very well. Villages do not want nor need them.

It will only ruin the small businesses that already exist in the village.

Let's keep Pangbourne unique, and most importantly local. We need to support the local businesses we already have and fight to keep the village enriched with independent stores and boutiques

No point in a Costa, KICK and Little Henry's have great coffee and joke made food, Costa is just a cheap burnt roast, with poor expensive biscuits, cakes and packet sandwiches. Who's going to pay to park to get a takeaway coffee? And if Costa take the RETAIL unit, where is the space for shops!! Why will people come to Pangbourne to shop in a run down WHSmith, and Co-Op!!

THis is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, this village is already fading and losing its community due to the fact that our own children can't afford to buy here, anything that is built and affordable is snapped up by people buying to let, Pangbourne Place for example was built and the majority of flats/houses are rented out. Now we have someone who was a pillar of the Community and STalwart for the Heart of Pangbourne selling our small family businesses down the road!!! Someone who wouldn't have been able to do this without the hard work of his father and family before him by running a family business ... this stinks!!!!!

If a huge company like Costa Coffee moves to Pangbourne it will damage the local and independent cafes in the village. It is the duty of local councils and authorities to protect the livelihood of both its business and residents, therefore this planning application should be rejected.

We have local people running local, responsibly sourced food and drink outlets. This works just fine for everyone.
