Why open another shop that sell coffee of any other "food stuff" don't you honestly believ that there are enoughplaces to eat and drink already in Pangbourne? The only way,to get this palce to close is to vote with your feet and don't use it.

Pangbourne is a lovely village and has great local independent coffee shops, it does not need a costa coffee or any other chain

Completely superfluous as Pangbourne is more than adequarely catered for .This will simply dilute demand which is largely fixed in a small village with the result that the weakest will fail-an dit wan't be Costa-so if you don't want even more empty units in the village and you believe in a diverse thriving village with an individual flavour then sign this petition and send it to at least one more person .

Totally object to this, a big company in a tiny village which has various locally owned shops serving coffee as well as food. This village also has numerous pubs which also serve coffee, cakes and food.

With so many chain shops already in Pangbourne, one has to question why nobody objected to these... Strutt and Parker, Worldchoice travel agent, The Co-Op, HSBC, Lloyds Pharmacy, WHSmith, Lloyds TSB, Davis Tate estate agent, Age UK, Post Office, Vision Express, Greene King, Ladbrokes, Londis.

So there is a shop that doesn't sell local products, doesn't invest in the community and has a single owner. In contrast there is a planning application for a scheme that will employ at least 8 locals to which numerous people from the surrounding community have already applied... is run by a small businessman who will invest heavily and use local trades and significantly drive vitality and viability and yet it is the former that is preferred due to where the coffee beans come from?

Also lack of parking. That's going to be an interesting one! Who will pay to park behind the shops (unless that becomes their parking... but I don't see people wanting to pay to get a coffee. They will dump their cars on the side of the road).

Aren't there plenty of posters/stickers in independent shop windows saying 'Keep Trade Local'? If Costa Coffee comes to the village, it will take away the business from the thriving village that we live in - I don't particularly want to see a big, corporate brand potentially pushing out other businesses out of their retail units. We have too many empty as it is!

Present outlets adequate for theneeds of both villagers and visitors. Costa Coffee is not needed, not wanted and not good for the village.
