Christopher Columbus was partly responsible for the genocide of thousands of Tiano Indians. There is no reason to glorify him in any way; let alone with a statue. it's ridiculous that someone even tried to.

WTF! He and his brethren began the worst genocide ever known, upwards to a 100 million people died thanks to what he started! Why should anyone with even a drop of Taino blood in his/her veins would want to honor the head honcho of the savages who got their kicks by smashing Taino babies against rocks, raping Taino women, torturing their men with melted metal and having their dogs rip them to pieces, and enslaving the peaceful, generous people who received him with open arms! DO NOT BUILD A STATUE TO A MASS-MURDERER!!!
