As a former resident of Apulia Station, a town in the area I am opposed to annexation. This quaint little town will lose some of it's charm with these changes. I often went shopping in Cazenovia and to the movies!

I have not heard one responsible or persuasive argument for why this annexation proposal is in the Village or Town's best interest. Quite the contrary. I fear negative consequences to Cazenovia's charm and uniqueness, which is its greatest strength and hope for the future.

I urge the town and village leaders to take a more responsible approach to commercial and residential development. The annexation is not in the public interest and I do not approve.

The Village and Town Boards approved a Comprehensive Plan for the development of Cazenovia. That process took years and many hours of time. We need to follow that plan rather than utilizing spot annexation and ad hoc development.

The North side of route 20 was open to commercial development in the comprehensive plan, not the South Side of route 20. I urge the Village and Town boards to deny the request for annexation. Why make our Village look like everywhere else?

It was decided long ago that this annexation would take place. The town new about it since 2012 yet we heard nothing about it until now. The village has said they believe in government transparency. I don't think that's true.

How many more drug stores and gas stations do you need in a tiny village like ours? We already have storefronts, remnants of gas stations and pharmacies that are closed... How about we work to revitalize our existing infrastructure in the village and stop this type of sprawl and damaging development mentality that clearly has detrimental, long lasting effects.

Any "big box" enterprise in Cazenovia is a grave mistake. Our Village is our treasure and each generation must fight to keep it alive, unspoiled and unique.

Why is Cazenovia looking to make itself like every other town in America with chain stores and strip malls.

Who benefits from this proposed annexation? It clearly is NOT the village - it's center village merchants or its residents.

Some of our elected officials have never seen a business proposition they didn't like, regardless of its ultimate consequences for Cazenovia. This one would enrich the few at the expense of everyone.

We must honor the validity of the comprehensive plan, not fly in the face of it.

We already have a grocery store. Adding another will not add to the economy of Cazenovia but rather pull resources away from the store we have. There are definitely things our community needs (a car wash, bookstore, a general store) but a second grocery store is not one of them.

1000 Cazenovia and sign a similar petition just eight years ago and we face the same thing today
Our elected board members need to be reminded that the vast majority of Cazenovia has not change their mind about stripmall retail at our route 20 Eastern Gateway The current Town plan does not allow it
