Say No to Carnival Cruise Line's New Rewards Program

Carnival Cruise Lines announced their new Rewards program on 18 Jun 2025. This new program will go into effect on 1 Jun 2026.
This new program complete removes the permanent loyalty status that many loyal customers have worked for years, if not decades, to achieve. With this poorly thought program, the loyalty start reset every 2 years and you will have to spend thousands of dollars each year to maintain your status.
For example, A platinum member would need 50K points to retain their platinum status and enjoy the perks associated. With a 3 to 1 ration, every 1 dollar spend on carnival equates to 3 points. Customers have 2 years to get to the 50K points before they can enjoy the perks. At the current ratio each customer would have to spend approx $16K over 2 years. A couple would need to spend $32K and a family of 4 Would need to spend $64K. The average cruiser cannot afford to spend this much and can barely take 1 cruise a year. This would make existing platinum and diamond cruiser revert back to the lowest tier or gold at the best if they can't maintain the continuous rotation of spending. Even worse, to maintain the status you would have to continue to spend that amount every 2 years or it reverts back to the lowest loyalty status.
This program does not honor loyalty to Carnival, it benefits the wealthy elite that can afford to spend massive amounts of money.
Also, many of us spent years and decades to get our current status and now under this new program, these wealthy elite can earn top tier status in one cruise if they throw enough money at Carnival.
This program is nothing more than a money grab to pad their corporate profits and no care or thought was given to the loay customers that keep Carnival in business and who continued to book and hope for a cruise during the Pandemic.
We demand Mrs. Duffy and the powers to be at Carnival to reconsider this program or revamp it in a way that will not reset our loyalty status if we cannot afford the massive spending required.
Failure to do so will result in many customer, like myself, to take our business to other cruise lines that will honor our loyalty.
Sincerly,
Upset Carnival Cruiser
