We the undersigned, as individual Labour party members, are deeply concerned at recent press reports stating that Tony Blair is set to make a substantial financial donation to Labour.
Firstly, Mr Blair’s sources of income are highly dubious. Most notably, he is currently on the payroll of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the dictator of Kazakhstan, serving as an advisor. Leading human rights organisation Amnesty International and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights have both accused the regime of using lethal force against demonstrators and the routine use of torture.
This goes against our party’s most fundamental values.
Secondly, it would be a travesty if our party, as a result of the Collins Review, were to lose donations from trade unions – the cleanest money in politics - and replace this with funding from wealthy individuals seeking to buy influence in our party.
Therefore, we call on our party leadership to reject any financial donation from Tony Blair.

Reaching this level of support has been a long and exhausting process but it proves that many of us refuse to stay silent about the soul of our party. I am drained by the resistance we face yet seeing this momentum grow gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

Keep his blood money far away from our party coffers. We dont need his kind of influence anymore.

I do not like this man, don't let him bribe his way back into the lives of honest people.
The Labour party has never been so undemocratic. Decisions voted on at conference totally vetoed by the party leadership. I consider this a much greater deficit of democracy than allowing a movement with 6 million members have some kind of a say in a party of 200000.
The Labour Party as I grew up and knew it, does not exist, I hoped after Blair, the bastard son of Thatcher had gone it might return to it's roots, stand up for the sons & daughter's of the people who, in many cases gave their lives for a party which would represent them. You take money from a war criminal, please don't. For he only give to get control.

The man is a disgrace. How can we call ourselves a socialist party if we take cash from someone who profits off dictators? Just no.
