It is saddening to know that some professionals act without thinking. It is very wrong of radiologists to want to establish a council of their own when radiology cannot be studied outrightly like dentistry or radiography. This bill must not be allowed to see the light of day.

National Assembly should not pass the bill. It's against professional conducts. Why should one part of the health sector seek to be in control of others.there say that division of labor beings saves time. There is no part of the body that would say is greater. Every part is essential to the body And non is greater. The doctors should focus on there discipline and leave we the medical radiographers alone. If this bill is passed the health sectors will divide and I wonder what will happen to the patients

Being a student of radiography and radiological sciences, University of Nigeria, UNN, I among all other students of Radiography in UNN and other higher institutions in Nigeria offering radiography, are offered admission to study all the sub-disciplines in Radiography and radiology including ultrasound, computerized tomography, MRI, to mention but a few, for good five years and an extra year of internship. I and my colleagues are subjected into five years of painstaking research, clinical postings (requiring individual participations in a minimum of one thousand aided and non-aided radiologic examinations of various pathological diagnosis, employing various technique, to be filled into our official log book which is submitted and officially endorsed), examination and screenings and thesis. I hereby give my self a vote of confidence, and also to all my fellow graduates of radiography at least in UNN that we can fulfill every requirenents in the practice of this profession competently and independently. My hands are hereby raised to vote against any bias agenda designed in any form by some pre-existing body, to encroach into a profession like ours that has stood the test of time and has come to stay, following relentless effort from the board heads and also from we students striving to be the best.
