The corporate suits clearly think they can just bulldoze into Cloudcroft and dump their cheap plastic garbage on us without a fight. We are talking to local officials now to expose exactly how this store will gut the mom and pop shops that define our village. Their silence is cowardice and we will keep pushing until they realize this town is not for sale.

We just hit 100 signatures and this proves that Cloudcroft refuses to let these corporate vultures ruin our village. The developers behind this dollar store have no business here and we are just getting started.

Leave the Dollar Stores in developed industrialized neighborhoods. A chain store would not only blemish the community of Cloudcroft it would also inhibit the spirit of entrepreneurship that is so inspiring about the tight knit community of Cloudcroft business owners.
If you make Cloudcroft just like almost every other place in America whats the point in going there to "Get away". I for one love the small town atmosphere of local vendors, artists and residents. Having to plan ahead and pack everything you might possibly need is part of the fun. Sounds like the majority that live and have a business there don't want it. Let them earn a living in a place they love. For them its not all about money.
People go to the mountains to get away from their everyday life. To be one with nature and enjoy the quiet and beauty. It is not always desirable to have everything within reach. If things will be needed, plan ahead and take it with you, or take that short drive to Almagordo.
Keep Cloudcroft unique in its artistic offerings. Deny mass commercial coporations setting up in this remote viallage.
We dont need cookie cutter retail junk ruining the mountain charm. Keep the big box trash out of our village please.
