There will be a dramatic effect on the already stretched local infrastructure. Much more consideration needs to be given to this.

Thatcham use to be the largest village in England now it is the most cramped everyday I see cars being driven on the pathways doesn't this say it all.

Thatcham has had so much development in the last 10 years soon it will be a sprawling mass with no defining boundaries.

thatcham is a village with 1 secondary school already oversubscribed and some of our children have to travel to Newbury schools - this will mean more will have to travel!!

Can't believe they can even consider building these houses, massive strain on local amenities. I cant even get a loft approved through planning, if these houses are granted its totally underhand.

There are not enough schools / health faculties to cope with any more houses/ residents. They're bursting already.

no more! we cant take any more the schools are full the roads and falling apart and the acconamy isnt ready!

Thatcham can not cope with more houses, it is going to be ruined by more building...leave Thatcham as it is!

Development does not include required community facilities (secondary school, local medical, local shopping, etc). Development also high-density housing, inconsistent with neighbouring developments and the farm jammed into the middle of the development. Public transport links, particularly rail, are an issue due to constrained parking at the railway station and the already strained Thatcham level crossing. Existing transport considerations in the proposal are vague and address the wrong issues. Use of traffic light junction on the A4 would be inappropriate, causing congestion and reducing flow at peak times. Would reconsider position if the community resources (esp secondary school) were improved, the housing density and presentation was consistent with Piper's Way/Dunstan Park and the developer was able to contribute to improved traffic flow on A4 and the Thatcham level crossing.
