Myself and my family have enjoyed for over a decade. Please do not restrict such a wonderful event.

As a Ghanaian, this festival is important to showcase mine and my fellow Africans' cultures. It's unfair to shut it down for the reasons stated in this article. What happened to a multicultural Canada?

Afrofest is a wonderful event to attend not only to learn but enjoy different types of art, clothing, food, music etc. If taken away I feel we as black Canadians have little room to express and enjoy our roots as our even are few and far between. Taking away afrofest is like taking away apart of who we are as african decebdants and demishing our our heritage and culture.

where collaboration, unity and engagement exist -education and empowerment also stives. This is a positive movement which tends to give a sense of culture and identity - a strength not a weakness

Mayor. Tory, people of different races enjoy Afrofest . Do not take away the day from the two day event. Is it because it's an African event ? I wonder.

Tjis is just the thin edge of the wedge. The more we, as people of colour, think we are a part of this mosaic, the more we are reminded that we must be subdued in the expression of our culture.

A local councillor wants to teach African Canadians a lesson? Oh dear.

Nuit blanche kept me up until past 4 am and nobody said anything! This is stupid and discriminatory.

There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest. Every social injustice is not only cruel, but it is economic waste.
