To build anything here would be a travesty. I am completely opposed.

This debate has started with very misleading statements and pictures. Firstly the application is for moving our existing landscape contractors business storage of soil, aggregates, turf, reclaimed materials, crushing for hardcore, storage of waste skips for waste produced by the business and screening of the new yard. Secondly the foremost area in the picture will never change or be developed and the mine stack is not even on that land and will not be affected. The proposal area is on the other side of the track leading to Semmens coal yard. All activities will take place on the far side and will not be visible from the road. Thirdly no one has mentioned that the site is within a stones throw of the coal yard and concrete plant that have been in existence for years. This is not pristine moorland and was once a tip and is full of excess stones. We have conducted reports/surveys/impact assessments and heritage reports so that we make as little impact as possible and we are very aware of the surrounding area. We are a local business established for 25years we employ about 60 people in an area that lacks skilled jobs and very much want to stay local putting our money back into the community. How many blows to employment can our small town take? Will it rip our community apart? Knee jerk reactions to deceptive statements are not helpful. Our town and area was built around Geevor/Clayworks/Levant Mine and many other businesses would these get permission today??

Time has come to start to protect and prevent the environment, not to continue the assault based on financial small mindedness and superficial gain ...

This has already and justly been opposed by appropriate authorities and planning denied. It should not be allowed to go ahead.

Too many wild open spaces are being swallowed up. We need these spaces for native fauna, flora and wildlife.
