Saving the character and identity of Tal-Pieta' and Gwardamangia

I was born and lived in Blackley St in Pieta' for 28 years. One of the express wishes of the Gauci family when they passed on the land to the Dominicans was that the view of the church tower from Portes de Bombes stays unobstructed.

It is out of place and will destroy the character of Pietà for sure.

They think they bought Malta !! it belongs to the people not to few making their pockets fat while others yawn with hunger

Reservation of the history and culture should be the main target of a Country

There will be no positive impact from this building. Destroyed heritage, noise pollution, no parking, negative impact on community, beautiful views from our roofs obstructed

The Pieta’ skyline should be left intact. Obstructing the church view goes against the Schedule properties of the area. Building also on Schedule 1 gardens goes against all policies in PA. Keep Pieta’ a picturesque village not over urbanising it like Sliema.

There are other alternatives. These villas can easily be converted in a boutique hotel whilst keeping the gardens and charm they allready have. Let’s not also destroy these little gems we have in our country. No to such greed. The proposed apartments will just be an eye sore and will add nothing of value to our beloved town.

If a block of flats were to be built at the end of the street, views will be obstructed e.g. greenery, the sky line and the church with the beautiful statue. Furthermore, the flats would look odd and out of place with the character of the street.

Mostly signing for the fact that there will be a bigger parking problem. The problem already exists and the garages and spaces proposed are surely not enough apart from the fact that our church will be buried with this proposal.

I object for the massive development. For sure a big no.
