They actually listened and decided to keep the doors open so Scavo stays exactly where it belongs. I am still shaking a little from the news because it honestly feels unreal after all that back and forth with the board but we did it. Keep checking in though because we …
Please help us save our school. Scavo isn’t just a school, it’s a safe place, a second home, the majority of us here wouldn’t even be continuing our educations without Scavo and the amazingly motivational and caring staff. The staff truly cares and will drop everything to help their students.
I just refreshed the page and saw four digits staring back at me which is honestly completely wild because I remember just sitting here hoping for even ten people to care. Someone from the local paper actually emailed me about Scavo today (still trying to process that) so I guess this is actually happening now.

I keep refreshing the page and it just keeps moving up which feels surreal because I remember when this was just an idea. Seeing how many people actually care about our school is honestly kind of overwhelming in the best way possible. It really proves that Scavo is not just some building but a home that people are genuinely willing to fight for.

My good friend Carmon Rasmussen works here and goes above and beyond for the kids here. She cannot say enough wonderful things about the students here and how they've impacted her as much as I know she's impacted them! Keep this school open!! These kids depend on it!!

This school helped me so much. I was a young troubled teenage girl skipping class and not caring about finishing high school. I came to Scavo and seen how small the classes where and you do work on your own pace and it was a half a day!

I went to Scavo for part of my high school career. I’m now a successful business owner, a volunteer in my community, and an artist. Without the human interaction element the program would not have made the same difference in my life.

scavo is the only reason i graduated. they made sure i felt like somebody cared. and if it wasn’t for the teachers and administrators at that school i would not be where i am today. please don’t take that away from other kids. they need alternative options.

This school is needed for students who feel they don't fit into our traditional high schools and all the negativity a bigger high school brings. Teacher to student ratio means something and can make a difference in someone succeeding.

It would be so sad to see Scavo go. I went there 40 yrs ago before it was named Scavo, when it was just called Drop-In down on Indianola Rd, bcuz it was the alternative to just quitting school . Back then it was either you just quit school or go there if you were pregnant. I went there & was all prepared to be able to get my ged à yr ahead of my class at Lincoln ‼️ Then 25 yrs ago - my oldest son went there & had 3 of the same teachers & counselors I had when I went there, same 20 yrs ago when my youngest son went. Those teachers understand kids ‼️ they put value & worth in all kids, even if they are quote unquote troubled kids ‼️ They don't consider any kid as a "throwaway" ‼️
