The Pharmaceutical Industry located in Bhiwadi Rajasthan, India has been discharging antibiotic laden water discharge in water table of Delhi-NCR region due to which the millions of people living in Delhi-NCR region faces the grave threat of Super Bug or Anti Microbial Resistance which will result in every medicine becoming ineffective and subsequently leading to mass deaths in the region. Most effected will be children and elderly who are extremely low in immunity however most people will suffer from it.

Due to erratic and untreated antibiotic waste discharge most disease bacteria will become resistant to antibiotic medicines and this resistance will result in them having the potential of transforming themselves into Super Bug .

The central government and the state government has turned a blind eye to it and the environment agencies in corrupt connivance is allowing this as it is expensive to run treatment plants. For a small profit these units are playing with lives of millions of people and this needs to be stopped immediately and I urge the people to sign this petetion to take the voice to central government and state government of Rajasthan.

Updates

July 14, 2016

I have finalized the formal report detailing the antibiotic contamination levels for submission to the pollution control board. We are currently coordinating with legal counsel to draft a notice for the facilities identified in Bhiwadi. Direct pressure on these regulators remains the primary objective.

Waste effluent coming from pharmaceutical plant should be taken into consideration, given the fact that it too contributes to resistance of antimicrobials.

A regulation in India is needed that mandates pharmaceutical manufacturers to treat their effluent discharge to remove antibiotic content to make our environment and health healthy.

Bio-hazard material should be disposed off in controlled environment by the certified professional or it will create an epidemic on grand scale.
