The purpose of our cause is to save California's educational future from the recent budget cuts and prevent classes from being canceled during the spring semester, to prevent lay offs of teachers both part-time and full-time,and staff members. We hope to prevent a rise in college tuition- for both domestic and international students.
After December 5, 2009 we will be forwarding our petition to California State Legislature and to our current governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I have been reading your stories about how these tuition hikes threaten your ability to finish your degrees. My own brother is currently worried about his classes being cut next year, and your comments remind me that we are fighting for the people who fall through the cracks of these budget decisions.
December 2, 2009
Seeing this grow so quickly reminds me how many families are terrified about losing their teachers and their future. This momentum proves that we refuse to let our classrooms be destroyed by these budget cuts.
