Zur Einführung in wissenschaftliches Verstehen, Fragen und Arbeiten gehört auch das Nachdenken über Voraussetzungen, Möglichkeiten, Grenzen der Einzelwissenschaften und der Wissenschaft schlechthin. Dies ist im Leitbild der Universität Bern verankert. Denn um wissenschaftliche Ergebnisse zu verstehen, muss man auch wissen, wie diese entstanden sind. Im Studium der Wissenschaftstheorie und Wissenschaftsgeschichte (WTWG) werden diese Themen erforscht. Fächerübergreifende Studienangebote sind zur Vernetzung der spezialisierten Fachwissenschaften unverzichtbar. In der Zusammenarbeit zweier Fakultäten bietet WTWG eine im deutschen Sprachraum einzigartige Möglichkeit zum interdisziplinären Studium.

The reflection on conditions, possibilities, borders of single sciences and on science in itself belongs absolutely to the introduction of scientific understanding, questioning and labour. This is anchored in the mission statement of the University of Bern. For in order to understand scientific results, one must also know how these developed. In the study of Science Theory and Science History (WTWG) these topics are investigated. Interdisciplinary study offers are indispensable for the cross-linking of specialized sciences. In the cooperation of two faculties the WTWG offers a possibility for this interdisciplinary study, one that is unique in the German linguistic area.
Do you want to engage yourselves that this study possibility can continue to exist? Then please sign this petition!

The University of Bern is trying to gut our intellectual foundation while we are just shy of one hundred signatures. This push is the only thing standing in the way of their reckless cuts. Get this link out to anyone who refuses to let them destroy the WTWG.

WTWG ist so wichtig für das gesamte Verständnis. Bitte lasst es im Angebot!
Das ist echt ein Witz. Die Uni Bern spart immer an den falschen Orten.
War ein super kurs damals. Hab viel gelernt was ich heute im Job täglich brauche. Erhalten!
Echt schade das so ein schmales Angebot auch noch wegfallen soll. Bern sollte stolz darauf sein.

Solche interdisziplinären Fächer sind genau das, was das Studium heute braucht. Bloß nicht streichen.
