Wolf lake is situated 50 km outside of Sudbury, which is known as the mining capital of Canada. Wolf lake is home to the ancient red pine forest of Canada, quartzite cliffs and sparkling blue waters. The problem is Wolf lake isn't apart of a provincial park, it's on crown land, which means the government can try to protect the lake from mining companies, but can't stop them from mining. Sign this petition and show your support for this beautiful lake.

Updates

June 15, 2017

I am currently organizing a formal brief for the Ministry of Natural Resources to outline the ecological risks of mining near the ancient red pine forest. We are also coordinating with environmental legal counsel to determine the exact boundaries of the land claims that threaten this area.

The increased visibility from this surge has prompted a formal inquiry from the regional planning committee. I am currently finalizing a presentation for their upcoming session to outline why this territory must be formally reclassified.

Our greed might be the end of us, it certainly has been for countless other species. We need to respect and protect the natural environment. @activistmac

Why are companies so eager to destroy forests, lakes, watersheds, basically anything wild without any repurcussions

My family has been camping here for years. We cannot let them tear up the landscape for profit. Keep Wolf Lake wild.

Ridiculous that this is even a debate. Red pines are rare enough as it is. Stop the mining now.
