As a 20-year resident (and 2-time Board member & President), Virginia Oaks needs an immediate two-prong approach in order to simultaneously address short-term neighborhood aesthetics and long-term property values:
1.) Use Sequoia to immediately commence canvassing the neighborhood and issue citations for DRC violations (too many exist) and begin the process of restoring the visual allure of homes, yards and mailboxes, issues that lie directly within our purview
2.) Leverage the Steering Committee information (that will be presented June 9th and 11th) and whittle the "golf-course property alternatives", during a community Town Hall, to quickly identify short-term decision making that would buttress long-term property values
That is our binary roadmap. We can divide and conquer the tasking to ensure immediate action commences. Community attention and involvement will be required and this petition is the trigger. Failure of the Board to provide support to their very own Steering Committee initiative is grounds for a community investigation!

Would love to see Va Oaks looking like it did years ago! And having access to the walking trails and moving the amenities to the clubhouse would increase our home values in years to come!

****The Steering Committee is investigating many options relating to the golf course land and clubhouse. They will be presenting all options to the community. An option exists that would allow the community to acquire the land and clubhouse with no increase in HOA fees. Signing this petition is not a vote. You will be asked to vote later once all details are known. But it’s important for the HOA Board to know that there is community support for Virginia Oaks to protect the most important parts of our community.

Unacceptable to take no action on the golf course property.

This scenario seems to work best for our community. Agree that we need to be proactive and take action now before that is no longer an option.

This neighborhood is no longer beautiful. Can we get some class back? Take over the golf course, have a beautiful clubhouse in the center of the neighborhood, and make sure strangers can’t just come walking around our neighborhood. We can’t do this if somebody else owns our backyard. Take action.

Signing to plan for the future of VAOaks without the negative impact of the unknown. Being proactive in the decisions made to improve our neighborhood. Securing the clubhouse would provide a community center and ❤️ To a neighborhood that has lost it’s cohesiveness. Be bold, protect our future and support a positive change.

I can respect the concern that the residents near the US29 frontage are feeling; however, the options are severely limited and we must pursue the sale of frontage in order to gain control of the deteriorating clubhouse and walking paths. What was acceptable 20 years ago is not necessarily applicable to today's environment. We all need to be amicable to change.

Simply doing nothing without exploring other alternatives isn't the best decision, even if it's the easiest . Please continue exploring potential solutions and then weigh everything equally.

To do nothing does our community a huge disservice! We NEED a gathering place for meetings and other community events. Even without a golf course, Virginia Oaks can be great again...let’s explore our options and see some results!
We need thr board to act asap.
I support these ideas. Great work.
