Virginia Oaks is not the community that many of us moved into when we bought our homes. The beautiful landscaping of the golf course is gone, the social amenities at the clubhouse are gone. Weeds are visible from our streets and backyards, and they will grow faster than the trees in the nutrient bank. The clubhouse is vacant and deteriorating. Our property values will be impacted as this continues.

The golf course owners have offered to give the former golf course property, excluding the lot that fronts on Route 29 and the clubhouse to the HOA. The HOA cannot afford to accept it without raising HOA fees. If we acquire the Clubhouse, we could restore it and use it to generate revenue that would keep down maintenance costs and we would have a beautiful clubhouse at the center of the community, five miles of walking trails, and amenities equal to or better than any local community. Homeowners would also be able to maintain the safety and appearance of the nutrient bank property and golf course land behind their homes and the HOA could mow and maintain the street frontage.

If we do nothing, the clubhouse and our neighborhood will deteriorate. If we take advantage of this opportunity, we will have amenities equal to any neighborhood in the area and build value into our homes for many years to come.

A plan exists where this can be accomplished without an increase in HOA fees. Please sign this petition to indicate your interest in the HOA Board of Directors pursuing this opportunity,

Sign the petition if you agree that we:

1) Should acquire the former golf course land and walking trails.

2) Should acquire and renovate the Clubhouse and move some or all pool, fitness equipment, tennis and athletic courts, and playground equipment to the center of the neighborhood.
